CHEM - 3531 Organic Chemistry I Lecture (3) The first term of a two-term sequence (CHEM-3531 and CHEM-3533 ). Covers applications of modern principles of chemistry to elucidate structure, reactivity, and physical and spectroscopic properties of organic compounds. Chemical bonds, molecular structure, functional groups, stereochemistry of organic compounds, and mechanisms of organic reactions are emphasized. UV-visible, IR, and NMR spectroscopy are included for structure elucidation of organic compounds. Equivalent to CHEM-341. Prerequisite: Prerequisite: Take CHEM-1143 and CHEM-1144 Corequisite: Enroll concurrently in CHEM-3532
