EMED - 3405 Literacy Across the Curriculum in the Elementary Grades (3)

Provides an overview of children’s literacy development, factors that influence development, and instructional strategies for supporting that development. Particular attention is given to the literacy demands of elementary content-area classes, reading of informational texts, and use of writing to enhance content-area learning. Prerequisites: Take EDUC-2310, EMED-3099, EMED-3321, EMED-3333 , ENGL-2131 (may be co-requisite); Must be admitted to the Professional Education Unit of the Division of Education. Corequisites: EMED-3402 , EMED-3404, EMED-3420, and EMED-3425
