EDEC - 4560 Integrated Social Studies and Literacy: Supporting CRTL and Diverse Learners in Early Childhood (3)

Examines content, methods, and materials for teaching social studies and literacy in early childhood education, focusing on preschool to second grade. Includes exploration, analysis, and evaluation of materials, activities, and instructional techniques in social studies and literacy. Explores curriculum for preschool and kindergarten with an emphasis on supporting English Language Learners. Focuses on strategies to meet the diverse needs of exceptional learners and ELLs. Analyzes culturally responsive teaching and learning practices and how to best integrate them in the early childhood classroom. Instructional Method: Lecture-Discussion, Online.
