ART - 3955 Fiber Art (3)

Introduces students to the field of fiber arts. A study of historic textiles, basic textile techniques, fiber structuring, felt-making fiber mixed media, embellished surfaces, papermaking, and book arts becomes the source for individual studio projects. In addition, opportunities for problem-solving and a closer examination of fiber arts is given through dialogue, critique, and writing experiences (3 lecture and 3 studio; 6 total contact hours).
