EMED - 4442 Educational Psychology Applied to the Middle Grades (3) Examines the history, philosophy and psychology surrounding adolescent development and learning. Focuses on a number of related topics including surveying the various theories of adolescence, teaching a diverse middle school population, and understanding the psychological, social, emotional, and physical development of the middle school learner. Emphasizes relationship of theories of development to middle school instruction. Data-driven instruction for the middle school is also emphasized. Prerequisite: EDUC-2310 and EDUC-3440 .
