ENGL - 4307 African American English (3) This course is designed to introduce students to African American Vernacular English (AAVE), also known as Ebonics, and explores its historical and sociocultural contexts. It includes extensive written and oral applications of the semantics, syntax, and phonology of the Ebonic language system. Equivalent to ENGL-507. Prerequisite: ENGL-1010
