BBED - 6530 Methods and Materials for Teaching in Bilingual Programs (3) Prepares students to function effectively in a bilingual classroom. Identifies and examines specialized instructional strategies, materials, and evaluation stemming from various theories of teaching and learning. Introduces students to curriculum development, including the development of culturally responsive standards-based units and lesson plans. Students will research instructional practices locally and internationally, needs of students of different ages, pedagogical processes and the inclusion of students’ linguistic and academic strengths and reflect on their own language development. Requires 20 clock-hours of field experience. Prerequisite: BBED-6501 and BBED-6520 or Instructor Permission.
