HIST - 3130 History of Corrections (3) Provides a review and analysis of the historical development of the theories and functions of corrections and punishment, including institutional and community corrections and other sanctions, tracing the international roots of U.S. correctional practice as well as the social, political, cultural, and economic factors that have influenced the development and emergence of contemporary corrections in America.
