ANSO - 3700 Anthropology & Sociology of Power (3) This course examines questions of power, politics, and social change form a cross-cultural and social science perspective. We will explore the theoretical development of political anthropology and sociology; postcolonialism; how power is reproduced and contested; intersections of race, class, gender, and ethnicity; globalization and development; power relations between nations and communities; and structural violence and social change. Instructional Method: Offered face-to-face and online. Semester Offered: Fall. Prerequisite: Prerequisite: SOC - 1100 Introduction to Sociology (3) , ANTH - 1100 Cultural Anthropology (3) , or comparable intro-level Sociology OR Anthropology course.
