Surveys the role and effects of the broadcasting and cable industry. Emphasizes historical development, media regulations, terminology, programming and career opportunities. Introduces the economic and social consequences of broadcasting, the role of government regulations, and the future of the electronic media. Equivalent to MCOM-4565, MCOM-565.
