EDEC - 4450 Preprimary and Special Education Methods (3) Introduces techniques for individualizing developmentally appropriate instruction in specific content areas for young children with an emphasis on the prekindergarten and kindergarten years. Introduces curriculum development and content related to language and emergent literacy, manipulatives, sensorial materials, blocks, dramatic play, the arts, movement, math, science, and social studies. Examines approaches to working with culturally diverse children and the inclusion of special needs children. Equivalent to EDEC-425. Prerequisites: take EDEC-3099 , SPED-2100 , EDEC-3310 , EDEC-3320 . Corequisite course: EDEC-4451 .
