COMS - 4780 Critical Analysis of Pop Culture (3)

Explores the relationship between U.S. culture and popular, mass-mediated texts from a variety of communication perspectives. Focuses on the critical analysis of popular culture within social and political contexts and emphasizes multicultural influences and representations in everyday life. Examines popular culture as a source and site of personal, social, and cultural identities. Equivalent to COMS-525. Prerequisites: take COMS-3099  and COMS-2100 .
