ENGL - 4580 Read and Rap: Literature for Young Adult Readers (3)

Introduces the variety of literatures available for young adult readers (middle school and high school students). Examines establishing criteria for the selection of literature for young adults, including criteria related to student interests, reading levels, quality of materials, and psychological, historical, cultural, political, and social issues. Emphasizes the components necessary for the creation of thematic literature units to be used in secondary language arts classrooms. Instructional Method: Online. Semester Offered: Summer.
