EMED - 3405 Literacy Across the Curriculum in the Elementary Grades (3)
Provides an overview of children’s literacy development, factors that influence development, and instructional strategies for supporting that development. Particular attention is given to the literacy demands of elementary content-area classes, reading of informational texts, and use of writing to enhance content-area learning. Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education Program and EDUC-2310 , EMED 3099, EMED 3321, EMED 3333, ENGL-2131 (may be co-requisite) Corequisites: EMED 3402, EMED-3404 , EMED 3420, and EMED 3425
