SOCW - 4100 Law for Human Service Professionals (3) Introduction to law for social workers, including the study of legal issues, procedures, and selected legislation relevant to the practice of social work in varied settings. Examines the use of legal authority in the provision of services in the areas of income maintenance, justice, family services, rights of children, biological parents, foster and adoptive parents, divorce counseling, entitlement programs and reform, and other areas requiring knowledge of legal issues and processes. Equivalent to SOCW-459. Prerequisite: take SOCW-2100 , SOCW-3100 , and POLS-2100 .
