SPED - 6250 Characteristics of Students with Cognitive/Mental Impairments (3) Examines the theoretical foundations of mental retardation/ cognitive impairments and attempts to relate the various constructs to such issues as causation, prevention, and selection of appropriate psychoeducational means to identify such impairments. Additional attention is given to the effects of these individuals upon their family community. Requires 20 hours of fieldwork. Equivalent to SPED-625. Prerequisite: take SPED-8619 .
