ANSO - 4300 Food, Culture, and Society (3) Explores food consumption and production as complex social and cultural systems. Emphasis on symbols and social relations encoded in food systems. Gender and systems of inequality in various subsistence systems are examined. Natural resources and materials sustaining local food patterns and exchanges are also studied. Prerequisite: Take ANTH-2100 , or request instructor permission.
