CJUS - 3020 History of Corrections and Punishment (3) This course provides a review and analysis of the historical development of the theories and functions of corrections and punishment, including institutional and community corrections and other sanctions, tracing the international roots of U.S. correctional practice as well as the social, political, cultural, and economic factors that have influenced the development and emergence of contemporary corrections in America. Equivalent to CJUS-4130. Prerequisite: take CJUS 2200
