MATH - 6337 Modern Geometry (3) Covers an axiomatic study of Euclidean geometry. Introduces spherical, hyperbolic, and other non-Euclidean geometrics as well as analytical geometry. Introduces projective geometry, planar symmetry and tessellations, fractals and informal geometric topology. Requires exercises in the use of a computer, with Geometer’s Sketch Pad and the Maple computer algebra system with an emphasis on mathematical proofs. Equivalent to MATH-537. Prerequisite: take MATH-2137 .
