INST - 3100 Approaches and Interconnections: Scientific Research and Knowledge Production (3) Comprehensive introduction to the processes involved in knowledge production. Examines how different societies and cultures have used different sources of knowledge to address basic social inquiry. Special emphasis is placed on statistical inference and concrete applications of the scientific method to the natural and social sciences, arts, and the humanities. This course will make students more aware of the possibilities and limitations of the Internet as a medium of delivery of knowledge. Lecture/discussion/web-based course. Equivalent to INST-300.
