SOCW - 3100 Social Welfare Policy I (3) Provides beginning understanding of the scope of social welfare programs in the United States. Building on a liberal arts prospective, it draws from economics, philosophy, history, and political science to provide an understanding of the present-day United States “social welfare services” evolution through historical events in Europe and America that influenced policy formulation and delivery systems. Equivalent to SOCW-325. Prerequisite: SOCW 2100 and POLS 2100 (or equivalent) prior to enrollment.
