EDUC - 6360 Principles of Secondary Mathematics Education (3) Investigates the content and various models of the secondary mathematics curriculum for middle school grades (6-8) and high school (9-12) in the U.S. as well as in other cultures. Traces the evolution of contemporary programs and the philosophies that have driven them. Includes study of the NCTM Standards, the Illinois Learning Standards, and the use of various forms of technology as tools for exploring mathematics. Equivalent to EDUC-436. Prerequisite: EDCP-6101 or undergraduate equivalent.
