EMED - 6442 Educational Psychology Applied to the Middle Grades (3) Examines the history, philosophy, and psychology surrounding adolescent development and learning. Surveys the various theories of adolescence, teaching a diverse middle grades population, and understanding the psychological, social, emotional, and physical development of the young adolescent. Emphasizes the relationship of theories of development to effective, data-driven instruction for students in the middle grades. Prerequisite: Initial teacher licensure, graduate status.
