MATH - 4337 Modern Geometry (3) Covers an axiomatic study of Euclidean Geometry. Introduces spherical, hyperbolic, and other non-Euclidean Geometries as well as, analytic geometry. Introduces projective geometry, planar symmetry and tessellations, fractals, and informal geometric topology. Requires exercises in the use of a computer, with Geometer’s Sketch Pad and the Maple Computer Algebra System with an emphasis on mathematical proofs. Equivalent to MATH-337. Prerequisite: MATH-2137 .
