ENGL - 4205 Modern English Grammar (3) Studies the structure of English from a variety of perspectives. Emphasizes traditional components of English, such as the parts of speech, sentence construction, mechanics and issues of style. The course develops portable skills future teachers may carry into their classrooms. While the bulk of the course focuses on standard usage, the cultural relevance of grammar study will be the subject of ongoing discussion. Equivalent to ENGL-505. Prerequisite: ENGL-1010 or C1-901.
