CPSC - 7745 Database Development and Environments (3) Examines practical design and implementation of database systems on fourth-generation, relational DBMS environments. Topics include conceptual design of database, logical and physical database design, functional dependencies and normal forms, nonprocedural and fourth-generation DBMS, SQL and the industry standard for Data Manipulation Language (DML), integrated and distributed DBMS, and LAN for PC-based databases. Students will design and implement an actual database using a relational DBMS such as FOCUS or ORACLE. Equivalent to CPSC-745. Prerequisite: CPSC-6548 .
