CDIS - 3200 Advanced Sign Language (3) American Sign Language is the third most used language in the United States today. It is the native language of the American deaf. Students, who already have a comprehensive vocabulary, will learn how to use English (hearing) idioms and American Sign Language colloquialisms and idiomatic expressions. Students will engage in roundtable class conversation with the instructor, each other and visitors, deaf and hearing. This class will fine tune signing skills and clean up production and concept problems. It will also introduce interpreting skills and generally prepare the student for conversing and working with persons whose primary language is American Sign Language. Equivalent to CDIS-307. Prerequisite: CDIS-3100 .
