CHEM - 5157 Polymer Chemistry (3) This course discusses a broad range of topics, including basic concepts in polymer chemistry, morphology, rheology and solubility, molecular weight, testing and characterization of polymers, naturally occurring polymers, step-reaction, ionic, addition and free radical chain polymerization reactions, copolymerization, inorganic-organic polymers, plasticizers and other additives, as well as polymer technology. Audio-visual tapes are used to bring industrial processes to campus-bound participants. Laboratory demonstrations will supplement lecture material. Equivalent to CHEM-550.
