Selected biological, psychological, and sociocultural perspectives on substance use and abuse are examined. Basic epidemiological research strategies are reviewed. Epidemiological studies on substance use and abuse are evaluated in terms of their implications for etiology, treatment, prevention, and program management. Equivalent to ADDS-825. Prerequisite: ADDS-6100.
