EMED - 4455 Teaching Science in the Middle Grades (3) Introduces prospective teachers to content, methods and materials for teaching middle school science. Examines state and national standards, literacy strategies to promote scientific literacy, and strategies for making instructional decisions. Instructional Method: Offered face-to-face. Semesters offered: Fall and Spring; Summer session. Prerequisite: EMED-4404 , EDUC-3440 and 21 credit-hours distributed across the life, earth/space and physical sciences, including laboratory experiences in each area (See Science Content Alignment Table in Middle Level Program Handbook for suggested science courses).
