ENGL - 6580 Read and Rap: Literature for Young Adult Readers (3) Introduces the variety of literatures available for young adult readers (middle school and high school students). Examines establishing criteria for the selection of literature for young adults, including criteria related to student interests, reading levels, quality of materials, and psychological, historical, cultural, political, and social issues; and addresses the evolving needs and interests of the middle school and the high school reader through intentional text selection. Instructional Method: Online. Semester Offered: Summer. Prerequisite: ENGL-6575 and EDUC-6465 . Restrictions: The course is restricted to students who have met all Gateway 1 teacher education requirements, licensed teachers, or permission of instructor.
