COMS - 6750 Critical Gender and Sexuality (3)

Analyzes the study of gender and sexuality from a critical/cultural studies perspective, emphasizing intersectionality. Synthesizes the interplay of gender, sex, and sexuality in communication practices and social institutions. Assesses the role of power, hierarchy, and ideology in the construction of gendered and sexual identities. Equivalent to COMS-522. Prerequisite: take COMS-6100 .
